Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training is estimated to have disbursed VND43 billion ($2.05 million) of state funding for its projects in January, down 43.4% from December, said the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO). The figure represented an on-year fall of 4.4% and met 6.9% of the whole-year target, the GSO added. The ministry disbursed VND644 billion of state funding for its projects in 2013, down 29.8% from 2012 and meeting only 92.4% of the whole-year target. Vietnam aims to disburse VND625 billion worth of state funding for education projects this year. (GSO Jan Edition)
