Authorities of Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City have proposed the Ministry of Planning and Investment to add 11 major infrastructure projects to a list which will use loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The projects include construction of Ben Thanh-Tan Kien urban railway, an elevated road along Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghi canal, expansion of An Duong Vuong-Phan Anh-Binh Luong-Huong Lo 3, North-South highway and metro route 2. Others include construction of a mud treatment plant for water supply facilities, repairing fresh water pipeline D2000, construction of network system and installing pipelines in Au Co street. HCM City is facing troubles in seeking capitals for these projects while they are very important, local authorities said. Developing infrastructure projects is the city’s top priority to ease traffic jams, flooding and fast economic development and restructuring.
