Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan has used December 10 to announce the grants of 140 scholarships, worth VND3 million each, to disadvantaged children in the northern Tuyen Quang province.She praised the province’s education efforts and urged local authorities to pay more attention to children of similarly difficult backgrounds, encouraging them to continue pursuing their studies.The Vice President also asked international and local businesses to actively involve themselves in social programs assisting the disadvantaged children.She said she hopes local teachers will serve as worthy examples for their students and help them overcome their particular difficulties.
