An unexploded ordnance blast left one man dead and another wounded in Le Son village in the central city’s Hoa Vang district on Tuesday. The head of the communal police confirmed yesterday that the two men, Ngo Hoan, 34, and Le Thanh, 19, were breaking the mortar-shell for metal casing and gunpowder when the ammunition exploded. Hoan was killed immediately, while Thanh was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Police are investigating the case. (Vietnam News July 10)
