The Committee for Ethnic Minorities organized a conference to collect opinions on setting up a system of database on the country’s ethnic minorities in 2014-2015 period. At the conference in Hanoi on September 18, participants argued the project would help improving the internet archives relating to ethnic minorities. It was also said that the database would provide access to the Party’s and Government’s policies on ethnic minorities, and the result of programs which had been implemented for ethnic minority people. Under the project, the exploration data management system will be merged with the network of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities. The current database has been struggling with a couple of challenges such as the lack of a structure of data stores and unsound information management. In the next two years, the project will focus on infrastructure building, software management, technology transfer, and updating information on the preliminary basis.
