Quang Ngai should focus on rapid and sustainable poverty reduction in six poor districts in addition to promoting industrial and service development.National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan made the request at a meeting with the province’s leaders on December 24.Ngan also urged Quang Ngai to work out specific plans to tap its potentials and strengths in tourism and exports, while paying much more attention to implementing social security policies and job generation for local laborers.During the working session, NA Vice Chairwoman Ngan also heard brief reports on the implementation of the province’s 2012 socio-economic development plan, orientations for 2013 and its recommendations.Ngan expressed her happiness to see Quang Ngai’s rapid and multi-faceted changes, speaking highly of the province’s outstanding achievements over the past few years.Ngan wished Quang Ngai people, officials and armed forces Happy New Year, hoping that the province would gain much more achievements and successfully fulfill the envisaged goals in the years to come.Earlier on December 23, NA Vice Chairwoman Ngan visited and presented gifts to Vietnam heroic mothers, Vu Thi Tinh and Nguyen Thi Bich in Duc Pho and Mo Duc districts, respectively, offering incense to the late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong at his memorial house in Duc Tan commune, Mo Duc district.
