Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized a “five-point” approach to education development during a school year review conference in Hanoi on August 19, state media reported.
The “five-point” strategy highlighted the importance of placing students at the core, teachers as drivers, schools as the foundation, families as the support system, and society as the base.
Addressing ongoing challenges, the PM acknowledged issues in curriculum reform and teacher shortages. He outlined nine key tasks for the upcoming school year, focusing on thorough preparation for the first high school graduation exam under the new education curriculum in 2025.
PM Chinh urged the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) to allocate resources effectively, improve school infrastructure, and ensure a safe learning environment.
He also called for greater autonomy and quality improvements in higher education, emphasizing accountability and transparency. Additionally, the senior official urged for policy reviews and updates to better support teachers and the overall education system, ensuring sustained progress.
