More than 12,000 textbooks were sent to poor students on Ly Son Island off Central Quang Ngai Province on Monday [Aug 27]. The books were collected during the "Books for Ly Son Island" campaign launched August 1-15 by Quang Ngai's students who are studying in HCM City. The campaign also presented 55 scholarships worth more than VND31 million ($1,476) to underprivileged students on the island. (Vietnam News Aug 29)
