Trade/SPS/Quality Infrastructure Technical Experts

DAI Human Dynamics has been awarded the European Union (EU)-funded project Technical Assistance for the ARISE+ Programme in Vietnam. The 3.5-year project aims at providing technical assistance to the Vietnamese Government to maximise Vietnam’s benefits from preferential trade regimes, with a focus on regional agreements and the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA). It covers three components:

• Enhance compliance with Sanitary and Phytosanitary Standards (SPS) to improve the safety of Vietnam’s agro-food products and facilitate exports to the EU;
• A national quality infrastructure in place that boosts competitiveness and addresses technical barriers to trade; and
• Comprehensive preparation for the implementation of the EVFTA and EVIPA.

The project is looking for Technical Experts in the fields of Trade, SPS, Food Safety and Quality Infrastructure to support the project implementation through short-term assignments (to be further defined). We encourage all interested experts to submit their CV to be included in the project database.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR TRADE EXPERTS:

• University degree in international trade, economics, law, commerce, public administration, political science or other relevant subject;
• At least three years of relevant work experience in international trade, trade policy, investment, WTO/FTA or economics;
• Good technical knowledge on trade in goods, customs, rules of origin, trade remedies, standards, services, investment, IPR, TBT and SPS issues;
• Sound knowledge of Vietnam’s trade policy, trade agreements, laws and developments is an asset;
• Excellent drafting and presentation skills;
• Excellent oral and writing skills in English / Excellent oral and writing skills in Vietnamese are an asset;
• Experience in working in an international/multi-cultural environment outside Vietnam is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SPS/FOOD SAFETY EXPERTS:

• University degree in engineering, agricultural or other relevant subject;
• At least three years of relevant work experience in food quality, food safety or sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) requirements;
• Good technical knowledge on food safety, food quality, SPS, testing equipment and protocols or SPS provisions in international trade agreements;
• Sound knowledge of Vietnam’s regulations/policies on SPS is an asset;
• Excellent drafting and presentation skills;
• Excellent oral and writing skills in English / Excellent oral and writing skills in Vietnamese are an asset;
• Experience in working in an international/multi-cultural environment outside Vietnam is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR QUALITY INFRASTRUCTURE EXPERTS:

• University degree in engineering, economics, management or other relevant subject;
• At least three years of relevant work experience in national quality infrastructure, standardisation or quality and/or conformity assessment;
• Good technical knowledge on national quality infrastructure, standardisation, quality and conformity assessment or laboratories and testing methodology;
• Sound knowledge of Vietnam’s regulations/policies on national quality infrastructure is an asset;
• Excellent drafting and presentation skills;
• Excellent oral and writing skills in English / Excellent oral and writing skills in Vietnamese are an asset;
• Experience in working in an international/multi-cultural environment outside Vietnam is an asset.
