The International Labor Organization (ILO) is seeking a service provider (a firm or an organization) to carry out ‘STUDY ON COFFEE FARM WORKERS’ ACCESS TO SOCIAL PROTECTION AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SERVICES’.The objective of this study is to conduct a comprehensive stocktaking of social protection and occupational health services gaps and needs by women and men coffee farm workers in the informal economy and under formal employment (research target audience). This assignment aims to answer the following key research questions:
- What are the social protection and occupational health services access gaps and needs by the research target audience, in relation to their vulnerability profiles and their capacity to cope with risks?
- Can a link be established between exposure to occupational safety and health risks and the occurrence of occupational diseases (with focus on long-term exposure to agro-chemicals) within coffee farmer communities?
- How do social protection, decent work and occupational health services deficits affect the sustainability of smallholder coffee farming?
