SNV Vietnam is looking for a: Deputy Director/Program Leader
Based in Hanoi with travel to provinces (National contract)

SNV is seeking a highly qualified national candidate to fill in the post of Deputy Director for the Country Program in Vietnam with Program Leader responsibilities in the Agriculture sector. The job incumbent has a learning opportunity and a possibility to become Country Director.
Responsibilities
Deputy Director/Program Leader in Vietnam will share the responsibility of country management with the Country Director and the Country Management Team (MT) as well as involve in program development, program management and providing advisory services to clients.
- Manages one or more projects and provides oversight to a portfolio of other projects in the agriculture sector; ensure a high quality of project delivery
- Co-responsible for identifying new project opportunities (business development)
- Contributes, as a MT member, to strategy, HR and financial planning and management
- Contributes to SNV profiling in Vietnam
- Expands and maintains a strong network of clients, partners, service providers, authorities, donors
- Provide advisory inputs directly to project clients
- Provide inspiring, coaching and result-oriented leadership for to staff
- Facilitate learning and knowledge development
Candidate profile
- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding at strategic level of the international developmental sector, private sector, relevant actors and relevant developments
- Excellent networking and positioning skills, being able to link to international organizations, private and public sector, and local organizations
- Track record in partnership building and resource mobilization
- Capacity to translate strategy into impact-oriented programs and results
- Minimum 10 years relevant management experience, preferably in international organisations. International work experience is plus.
- Track record in the agriculture sector is preferable
- Excellent leadership and people management and coaching skills
- Entrepreneurial and result oriented
- Able to act with a mature, tactful and open mind
- Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills (English and Vietnamese)
- Demonstrated and proven record to work in a multidisciplinary team under changeable and complex circumstances
- Good computer skills in MS-applications (Word, Excel, Internet, Email, Power Points)
Contract Duration: SNV Vietnam offers a one-year contract with the possibility of extension and a competitive salary package.
Desired start date: June 2012
