The ILO Office in Vietnam invites applications from Vietnamese nationals for the following positions:
1.Administrative and Finance Assistant - Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE)
The Administrative/ Finance Assistant work under the direct supervision of the National Project Coordinator, who reports on all administrative/finance matters to the CTA of the SCORE Programme. He/she assists in supporting of the smooth functioning of the projects and may also be called upon to travel to provinces in Vietnam
The duration of appointment is 12 months with possibility of extension subject to fund availability. The assignment is based in HCMC, Viet Nam.
Minimum Requirements include:
- Completion of secondary school or equivalent technical or commercial school plus formal training in accounting and/or finance from a recognized commercial school or equivalent.
- Five years of general clerical work, some of which has been in an accounting clerical activity.
- Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English and Vietnamese
- Proven ability to use word processing and spread-sheet software and email. Ability to use other software packages such as PowerPoint, Excel and Words. Ability to draft routine correspondence. Knowledge of secretarial practices and in-house procedures for the preparation of documents and the use of filing systems. Knowledge of the accounting and finance procedures and regulations of the Office. Demonstrated ability to apply finance and accounting methods Ability to reply in an appropriate manner to telephone and in-person inquiries. Ability to organise own work. Ability to work well with colleagues and obtain services from other work units inside or outside the office for completion of tasks.
2.National Project Officer - Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE)
The Officer will work under the close direction of the SCORE Chief Technical Adviser in Geneva, the Project Officer will be responsible for the timely implementation of the SCORE Vietnam project including its administration, monitoring and reporting activities
The duration of appointment is 12 months with possibility of extension subject to fund availability. The assignment is based in HCMC, Viet Nam
Minimum Requirements include:
- University degree in business management, engineering, economics or relevant field.
- A minimum of two to three years of relevant experience in project management and implementation
- Knowledge and experience of dialogue driven enterprise upgrading
- Broad knowledge and experience in small and medium enterprise development
- Work experience related to labour compliance would be assets.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, both in English and Vietnamese
- Demonstrated ability to implement and manage technical co-operation projects of international organizations;
- Demonstrated ability to provide business training and skills counselling;
- Familiarity with UN procedures would be an advantage;
- Ability to influence decision makers and negotiate with governments and social partners;
- Ability to manage in a coherent manner and monitor several activities, budgets and work plans at the same time;
- Ability to lead technical missions and to provide technical advice small business management training;
- Ability to design research techniques and analyze practices and data sets covering a wide range of issues in relation to workplace practices and competitiveness;
- Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision;
- Ability to train, guide and coordinate the work of project staff;
- Ability to prepare reports and publications of a high quality, technically sound with conclusions leading to an action plan and programme development;
- Proficient in basic computer software (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
