Officials of the World Health Organization and the UNICEF said they are willing to share experience with Vietnam in treating and taking care of mental disorder people, women, children and disabled people, the sate-run Vietnam News Agency said. A representative of WHO made the pledge at a conference co-held by the Vietnamese Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the UNICEF and the organization in Vung Tau city. Up to 15% of the Vietnamese population is suffering from the mental illnesses, the National Institute of Mental Health said, adding that most of them did not receive proper healthcare services. The country now has 400 social welfare centers, of which only 17 were for mental disorder people.
