Authorities of Vietnam’s southern province of Kien Giang have approved the establishment of Phu My natural reserve as part of the conservation project of UNESCO-recognized Kien Giang Biosphere Reserve. The reserve will cover a site of 3,270 hectares in Giang Thanh district, the Dat Viet newspaper reported June 9. The Southeast Asian country now has 58 natural reserves and eight UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserves.
