Authorities of Vietnam’s central highlands province of Kon Tum have approved a project to upgrade Ngoc Hoi District Hospital worth VND110.33 billion from the state budget. Under the project, the hospital will be upgraded to 250 sickbeds from the current 100 ones, the Dai Bieu Nhan Dan newspaper reported Sept 7. The move is aimed to reduce overload of the provincial general hospitals and provide better healthcare services for locals. Kon Tum aims all clinics to have doctors to benefit 510,000 locals by 2015, the newspaper added. The provincial health department has been warned of the rising number of dengue fever patients with 734 affected people in 55 communes in 9 districts between Jan and Aug.
