Authorities of Vietnam’s northern province of Quang Ninh have approved a plan to build a new treatment area worth VND58 billion ($3.04 million) at the provincial general hospital. Of the sum, 60% will come from the state budget and the rest from the provincial budget, the province said on its website March 1. Located on a site of 5,601 square meters, the treatment facility will have 130 sickbeds and three wards of oriental medicine, allergy - dermatology and functional rehabilitation. It is slated for implementation between 2010-2012, aiming to improve healthcare service quality for locals and reduce the overload of the hospital. The communist country now has 13,600 state and private-owned hospitals with 172,500 sickbeds.
