The central highlands province of Dak Lak is coordinating with Mondulkiri province of Cambodia to fight malaria in border districts of the two provinces. Almost 100,000 people at high risk of contracting malaria living in Ea Sup and Buon Don in Dak Lak and Koah Nheak in Mondulkiri were provided with insect repellent and medicine to prevent and fight against the disease. They were also provided with knowledge on malaria: how to avoid contracting it and how to treat it. The two provinces plan to reduce the rate of people contracting malaria in the area by 20% in 2010.
