Authorities of Vietnam’s central province of Quang Nam have issued a directive to ask relevant agencies of conduct a general survey on poor households across the locality between Oct 1 and Nov 31. The move is aimed to build software managing poor and near-poor families, serving policies of poverty reduction and social security. The rate of poor households in Quang Nam, which reduced to 19.64% in 2009 from 26.65% in 2006, is forecast of below 17% this year. (Van Hoa –Culture Oct 11 p9)
