The central province of Phu Yen will spend over VND 363 billion giving vocational training to 52,000 rural laborers, mainly beneficiaries, the poor and those whose cultivated land was revoked, during the next five years. The vocational training will be given for laborers in agricultural and non-agricultural industries such as farming, fisheries breeding, electric industries, civil clothing and machine maintenance. The province strives to bring the number of laborers who get jobs after being trained to 70% by 2015, and increasing the number of trained laborers to 55%. It also targets to train 60,000 laborers in the 2016-2020 period, and raise the number of trained laborers to 67% this period. The province will forecast the demand for laborers, implement pilot vocational training models for rural laborers, increase the facilities and equipment for the training, and foster the communal cadres. The province asks relevant agencies to study which industries across localities need vocational training, and study the demand of laborers, thus expanding effective vocational training models, contributing to creating jobs and income for laborers, helping them increase their living standard and boosting socio-economic development.
It is estimated that in Phu Yen province 13,649 people from 15 years old do not have jobs or lack employment. (cpv.org.vn Oct 28)
