Provincial People’s Committee of Phu Yen has issued Decision 253/2010/QD to encourage people of ethnic minorities to grow forest, which is within the government’s five-million-hectare forestry program.
Under the decision, each family will receive 700 kg of rice from the program when they shift voluntarily to convert its one hectare of crops into forest in every three months.
