The New Zealand Embassy in Vietnam has funded $15,000 to an education project for disabled children in Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi, state media reported Aug 24. The project will be carried out in 29 primary schools in Hanoi’s Thuong Tin district to equip knowledge of educating children with disability to handicapped schoolchildren, parents, managers and teachers in each school. The project will cover fees for holding events which will help child handicapped integrate into the community. Vietnam has around 5.3 million of people with disability, making up for 6.34% of its population. Of the figures, up to 21.24% of the handicapped people have not yet graduated primary, statistics by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs showed.
