Units of Military Zone 4 donated nearly VND100 million to buy 7,825 kg of rice for 285 ethnic minorities in 16 border communes between Jan and June. Military units also helped build houses for 29 households, granted gifts to 145 policy beneficiaries during the period. In 2009, they also presented gifts worth VND400 million for 14,000 poor households on the occasion of Lunar New Year or Tet and granted VND1 billion to help the flood-hit victims.
