JTI Vietnam, an unit of Japan Tobacco International (JTI), will finance the construction of 20 houses for poor families in Hau Giang and Ninh Thuan provinces by end-2009. JTI Vietnam, the Vietnam National Tobacco Corp. and the Vietnam Red Cross will carry out the project, the Thoi Bao Kinh Te newspaper reported Tuesday. The unit has helped construct 100 houses for the poor in Vietnam since 2007.
