The Japanese Embassy in Vietnam said Wednesday the Japanese government has approved an underground water sources-tapping project worth JPY2.05 billion ($22.3 million) in the central highlands region of Vietnam. Previously, Japan provided financial assistances to build clean water supply works in five communes of the central highlands provinces of Kon Tum, Gia Lai and Dak Lak, the Thoi bao Kinh te newspaper reported Mar. 25. This year, Japan pledged to provide $1.64 billion in ODA for Vietnam.
