The Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO), the Japanese council and the Kyoto Medical Planning Co., Ltd held a ceremony to hand over 339 medical equipment to four hospitals and 29 medical centers in districts in Hanoi on Feb. 2. Kusumoto Masaaki, vice chairman of the company, attended the transfer ceremony held in the Saint Paul General Hospital, the Communist Party of Vietnam said on its website. The medical equipment is as a result of aid mobilization of the HAUFO via the Japanese council. The mobilization aims to contribute to raise healthcare service quality for the locals, especially for the patient infected with ear, nose and throat disease, Kusumoto Masaaki said.
Nguyen Pham Y Nhi, director of the hospital expressed his thank to Japanese organizations for their assistance. In 2010, Japan pledged to provide $1.64 billion in official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam.
