Societe Generale, BNP Paribas of France and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp of Japan signed deals to lend a combined $174.4 million to Electricity of Vietnam Group (EVN) to develop the 100-MW Song Bung 2 hydropower plant in Vietnam. The loan will make up 80% of total investment of the plant, the Tien Phong newspaper quoted EVN as saying Mar. 31. The plant is under construction in Lae and Zuoil communes, Nam Giang district, the central province of Quang Nam. It is expected to generate 425 million kWh of electricity a year.
