Ford Foundation in Vietnam has donated $174,000 to a project to help Agent Orange/dioxin victims and disabled people in the central province of Binh Dinh. The funding, to be offered through the Vietnam Assistance for the Handicapped (VNAH), will help improve living condition of the local disadvantaged people, the Thanh Nien newspaper reported. Set up in 1996, the foundation provided a total of $10 million for Vietnam’s projects in 2007. An estimated 4.8 million Vietnamese people are exposed to the deadly toxic chemical and more than three million of them are facing health problems resulted from the exposure.
