Vietnam’s Vinacontrol Joint Stock Co. and two German companies SHP Steriltechnik AG and FCS FCS Qualitatssicherungsystem GmbH have signed a deal to set up a joint venture European Fine Food Testing Co., the financial cafef.vn newspaper reported Mar. 12. The company with a registered capital of EUR2 million will build and manage laboratories to test quality of imported and export products including food, apparel, footwear, tobacco products, clean water, waste water and other according to European standards. Its Analyze and Testing Center will start operation in August this year in Ho Chi Minh city’s Tan Thuan IZ. Nguyen Cong Khan, head of the Vietnam Food Administrator under the Ministry of Health said that and the establishment of the company will help Vietnam’s producers to improve their product quality, meeting requirements for export and domestic consumption. Vietnam currently has nine million small-scale household-producers and the food safety became increasing issue, he noted.
