More than 200 workers of South Korea’s SPG Vina Co., Ltd, located in Vietnam’s southern province of Binh Duong suffered from food poisoning May 12, the VietNamNet online newspaper reported. The victims were taken to the Ben Cat District Hospital with symptoms of stomachache, vomiting and dizzy after having dinner in the firm’s canteen. Local authorities took the food sample for testing to find cause of the case, the newspaper added. More than 100 workers of Thailand’s Alliance One Apparel Company based in the southern province of Ben Tre, were hospitalized April 27 due to food poisoning. Vietnam witnessed 147 food poisoning cases in 2009, affecting 5,026 people and killing 33 others.
