Child Rights Monitoring
The overall objective of the study is to strengthen child rights monitoring in Viet Nam, with a particular focus on the child rights oversight role and
function of the National Assembly. The study should examine the current situation in Viet Nam, explore international experience and best practice
on child rights monitoring in line with Viet Nam’s conditions, and, based on that, propose options for a child rights monitoring mechanism or for an
Ombudsperson for children that is relevant to Viet Nam.
The consultant should have:
- Advanced academic degree in law/ human rights
- Excellent knowledge and understandings on role and functions of Human rights monitoring or CRs Ombudsperson in the international context;
- At least 5-7 years of experience in the field of child rights/ human rights.
- Previous experience in conducting situation assessment & analysis, analysis of child rights practices and legal framework
- Good analytical skills and research capacity
- Ability to work with various counterparts, including government, donors, NGOs, and children on sensitive issues
- Experience in working in Vietnam and knowledge of the HRs/ Child rights situation in Viet Nam are required.
- Excellent writing skills in English.
