World Bank Wants to Help Vietnam Develop Clean Energy Transition Roadmap

The World Bank wants to support the Vietnamese government in developing a roadmap for the implementation of the clean energy transition, said Ms. Zayra Romo - lead energy specialist at the World Bank.

Ms. Romo made the statement at a working session with state utility Vietnam Electricity (EVN) on August 16.

The World Bank’s current resources will be able to support EVN in technical assistance cooperation, energy transition roadmap, and capital mobilization for renewable energy projects.

The World Bank also wishes to assist Vietnam in realizing commitments at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26).

For his part, Deputy General Director of EVN Nguyen Xuan Nam affirmed that his firm is ready to promote cooperation opportunities with the World Bank in the field of energy.
