Work Starts on VND534B General Hospital in South Vietnam

Health authorities of Vietnam’s southern province of Dong Thap have started building a general hospital worth over VND534 billion ($25.3 million), state media reported. Located on a 39,000-sq.m site in Sa Dec town, the 450-bed hospital will include a main building block, wards for infectious diseases, auxiliary works and other services. Once completed at end-2012, the facility is expected to ease overload of the existing general hospital, better medical services and meet the rising demand of local residents. Vietnam now has 13,438 healthcare facilities with 200,000 sickbeds, including 1,063 public ones. (Thoi Bao Kinh Te – Economic Times Feb 3 p2, Thanh Nien –Young People Feb 2)
