Work Starts on $14.29M Hospital Project in South Vietnam

Health authorities of Vietnam’s southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau have started building a general hospital worth more than VND300 billion ($14.29 million), state media reported. Located on a 5.7-ha site in Vung Tau city, the 370-bed hospital will include a main building block, wards for infectious diseases, auxiliary works and other services. Once completed in 2014, the hospital is expected to ease overload of the existing general hospital, better medical services and meet the rising demand of local residents. Vietnam now has 13,438 healthcare facilities with 200,000 sickbeds, including 1,063 public ones. (Phap Luat TP.HCM – HCM City Law Nov 29 p2, baobariavungtau.com.vn Nov 29)
