WB, SCE to Help Vietnam City to Develop Transport Plan
The World Bank (WB) and Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to help Vietnam’s central city of Danang to develop a transport plan. The deal was signed at the World Bank-Singapore Infrastructure Finance Summit in Singapore on November 10, the Giao thong Van tai newspaper reported Nov 17. Under the MoU, the WB and SCE will provide technical assistance and capacity building programs to assist the Danang to develop an urban transport plan and identification of infrastructure investment opportunities in Danang. Earlier, WB pledged a $300-million loan for a sustainable development project in 2013-2018 in Danang, focusing public transport network development, environmental protection, infrastructure and legal improvements in transport and urban management.
