WB to Add $65M to Environmental Sanitation Project in Central Vietnam
The World Bank (WB) has decided to pump more than $65 million into a project to improve environmental sanitation in Vietnam’s central coastal provinces, the Voice of Vietnam Radio said late Dec 8. Of the total, $14 million will be given to Khanh Hoa province’s Nha Trang city, $20 million will go to Binh Dinh province’s Quy Nhon city and $31 million to Quang Binh province’s Dong Hoi city. The project, which has an initial investment of $172 million financed by the WB, is slated for implementation between 2006 and 2013 with an aim to raise living conditions of local residents. By end-August, the WB provided a total of $9.83 billion in ODA for 92 programs and projects in the Southeast Asian country.
