VND650 Million to Defuse Explosives in Thua Thien-Hue

The Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial People’s Committee has just signed Decision 1227/QD-UBND to pass a project to detect and defuse bombs, mines and explosives left by the war in localities of the Province between 2011 and 2015. The Provincial Military High Command is entrusted to implement the project in an area of 35,300 ha or 20 per cent of the total Province’s area in 7 localities including Huong Thuy Town and Hue City. According to the local authorities, the project is very important to local people and socio-economic development as it will help reduce the rate of human casualties of explosives, restore land for local production and infrastructural projects, contributing to local efforts to eliminate hunger and mitigate poverty in the localities.
