VND200M Presented for Vietnam AO Victims
On March 14, the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange (VAVA) received VND 200 million from Prof. Dr. of Science and people’s teacher Phuong Luu who received the Ho Chi Minh Award on science and technology in 2010. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Luu said that he was proud of supporting AO victims. He added that half of the money would be distributed through VAVA and the rest through the Quang Ngai provincial sponsorship fund for AO victims where he was born. Senior lieutenant-general Nguyen Van Rinh, VAVA President, thanked Mr. Luu for his contribution, adding that the association will spend the money for Quang Ngai province, building a centre to care for AO victims. Prof. Dr. of Science and people’s teacher Phuong Luu, 76 years old, has been presented a number of awards by the state. He has dedicated all the money to contribute to social organizations.
