Vietnamese Nationals in Canada Support Eye Operations for 29 Children

The Vietnam Children Support Fund (VCSF) in collaboration with Thanh Hoa Optical Hospital provided free eye check-ups for local children and eye operations for 29 poor child patients with eye diseases between July 28th and August 3rd. All expenses of the operations, transportation and accommodation for 29 children worth VND40 million were sponsored by Pham Le Hung, a Vietnamese national in Canada and his friends in Canada via VCSF. In addition, Mr. Hung and representatives of VCSF led by Ms. Le Tuyet Mai, Deputy-Director of VCSF, visited child patients at Thanh Hoa Optical Hospital and presented gifts worth more than VND30 million to 103 poor child patients. Mr. Hung also visited the Thanh Hoa Blind Association and presented a set of computers that helps blind people learn the Braille language. Mr. Hung said that he and his friends would sponsor for additional eye operations of 11 poor children in August. Since the beginning of the year, VCSF with the sponsorship of generous organizations and kind-hearted individuals have supported VND588 million to conduct eye operations for 453 poor children with eye diseases in northern and central provinces.
