Vietnamese French Medical Association Set up
The Vietnam French Medical Association has been established with an aim to boost international integration and enable doctors to share experiences around the world, heard a meeting in Hanoi June 18, the Voice of Vietnam Radio said June 18. The association with 500 members comprises leading professors and doctors at domestic and foreign healthcare facilities. It is a professional body of doctors using the French language in their professional activities. It is aimed at improving the capacity for French, boosting international integration and facilitate doctors to share experiences around the world. Every year, the association will organize French conferences, seminars and training courses in France to improve its members’ professional skills and send delegations to join in short training courses in France as well as French speaking countries. The association will make great contributions to the development of Vietnam’s medical sector, Prof. Nguyen Khanh Trach, head of the association’s establishment board affirmed, adding that it will be an effective channel to connect doctors to essential information. The ministry is also calling for further investment in healthcare and pharmaceutical production that is considered promising sectors amid the rapid economic development, Nguyen Viet Hung, deputy director of the Ministry of Health’s Drug Administration, said.
