Vietnam Students Win First Prize at Int’l Competition in Cambodia
Students of Vietnam’s Hanoi University of Foreign Trade won the first prize at the McKinsey Mekong Business Plan Challenge Final 2011 held recently in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This is the second year Vietnamese students have participated in the competition and won high prizes, the Quan Doi Nhan Dan online newspaper reported Mar 16. The second and third prizes went to students at Thammasat Business School in Thailand. The Eco-Carbon Business Plan was initiated by three students, Le Hong Tam, Nguyen Thanh Thuy and Dang Hong Thai, under guidance over the past year from lecturer Nguyen Quang Huy. The first prize will bring these students a study- and working-tour over three weeks in New York under the Ford International Fellowship this June. The McKinsey Mekong Business Plan Challenge is organized with an aim to promote business-spirit and introduce new socio-business plans in Mekong region. McKinsey Company and Cambodia National Management University have co-organized, for the fifth time such a competition for students. This year’s event drew the participation of more than 100 teams from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. Launched in 1976, the annual competition drew more than 400 entries in 2010.
