Vietnam Starts $128M South Korea-funded Transport Project
Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport has kicked off a VND2.87 trillion ($128 million) project to build the Hung Ha bridge and roads linking with the bridge in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai. The 2-kilomter bridge is part of the 6-km transport project, which links northern provinces of Hung Yen and Ha Nam. The four-lane bridge is designed for vehicles to travel at 80 km per hour. The project is expected to finish in 36 months. It will connect the Hanoi-Haiphong expressway and the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh expressway to create a united economic region in Hong (Red) River area. The Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of South Korean government will lend $117 million to the project.
