Vietnam to Spend VND10.2T on Health Projects Next Year

Vietnam’s National Assembly, the country’s highest legislative body, Monday approved a plan to allocate VND10.2 trillion ($523.08 million) from the state budget for health projects in 2011. The funding is part of the government’s VND519.29-trillion budget spending next year, the Dat Viet newspaper reported Nov 16. The country disbursed a total of VND4.32 trillion for health projects in the first ten months of this year, fulfilling 77.07% of its year’s target. Domestic medical sector is predicted to need a total investment of VND120 trillion in the next five years, with VND10 trillion for the expansion of intensive health operations, and between VND5 trillion and VND10 trillion for medical worker training.
