Vietnam to Spend $530M on Environment Protection in 2015: Ministry
Vietnam will spend VND11.4 trillion ($530 million) on environment protection in 2015, including 15% from the state budget and the remaining from the local authorities, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment said. The total estimated spending rises 14.2% from a year earlier, the ministry said. As being one of five hardest-hit countries by climate change, Vietnam has decided to spend 1% of the total budget spending annually on environment protection since 2013. The rate would rise along with the economic growth. Since 2009, Vietnam has borrowed approximately $1 billion from foreign countries and organizations for climate change response programs.
