Vietnam Southernmost Province to Build Houses for AO Victims

The Association of Agent Orange Victims of the southernmost province of Ca Mau said it will build 100 houses costing VND15 million each for the victims facing housing difficulties this year. The association will raise cash for the program from governments of districts and towns and persuade local residents to donate land, said Tran Thanh Phong, president of the Association. Phong hoped the cause will get support from businesses and philanthropists. The biggest challenge facing the program is that, according to Phong, the number of victims in need of a home increases to thousands. The program was launched in early 2014 and has to date built 35 houses. (Vietnamplus Jan 6)
