Vietnam Seeks UNFPA’s Support in Socio-Economic Development

Vietnam wants to bolster cooperation with the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) in affairs related to population, reproductive health, adolescents, and women to realize its socio-economic development goals and relevant international commitments, said Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet.

Deputy FM Viet made his statement while receiving Country Representative UNFPA Vietnam Matthew David Jackson, who came to present his credentials in Hanoi on September 13.

Mr. Viet expected the new UNFPA country representative to contribute to strengthening collaboration between Vietnam and the UN organization and implementing the tenth Country Program for Vietnam (CPD 10) for the 2022-2026 period.

Mr. Jackson, in reply, pledged that UNFPA will continue to support Vietnam in such matters as reproductive health, adolescents, gender equality, aging population, and others.
