Vietnam Seeks to Kick off WB-funded VND2.25T Transport Project in 2025

Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport has asked the Department for Roads of Vietnam (DRVN) to shortly complete the pre-feasibility study for kickstaring a VND2.25-trillion ($93.75 million) project to upgrade a section of National Highway 62, funded by the World Bank (WB), in 2025.

Of the sum, VND1.54 trillion is set to come from the WB and the rest from the local government.

The 77-kilometer section, running through the Mekong Delta province of Long An, is designed to have four lanes and a designed speed of 80km per hour.

Earlier, the government approved a VND7.16-trillion project to upgrade three national highways in the Mekong Delta region. The value includes over VND5.6 trillion in loans from the WB. (VnEconomy)
