Vietnam, Russia Sign MoUs on Healthcare, Environment on Putin’s Visit
Vietnam and Russia signed a number of Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) on healthcare and environment cooperation during the visit of President Vladimir Putin to Hanoi on Nov 12, state media reported. Cooperation program on health protection and medicine in 2014-2016 between the Health Ministries of Vietnam and Russia was inked by Ministers Nguyen Thi Kim Tien and Veronica Igorevna Skvorsova. Under the MoU, the Vietnamese Health Ministry and the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection will boost cooperation in ensuring people’s hygiene and safety against epidemics. The MoU on geology and use of mineral resources was signed between the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources. The MoU are among 17 cooperation agreements signed on the occasion, mainly in the fields of economics, trade, investment, energy, science and technology, education, and defense, with an aim to deepen bilateral cooperation.
