Vietnam, Russia Forge Health Cooperation
Vietnamese Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thi Lien Huong held talks with Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) Shevtsov Pavel Anatolievich in Hanoi on October 4, during which both sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral health cooperation.
Deputy Minister Huong proposed that Russian universities accompanying the Russian official form tie-ups with their Vietnamese peers as Russian medical schools’ potential in scientific research, biomedical technology, epidemiology, biology, and genetics could contribute to improving Vietnam’s health training capability.
The Russian official, for his part, said that Vietnam is one of Russia’s major partners in medical education and training. He affirmed that Rossotrudnichestvo will continue to be a reliable and long-term partner of the Vietnamese Ministry of Health with regard to pharmacy, vaccine, medical biological products, medical training, oncology, traditional medicine, and others.
