Vietnam Reports 76,000 Hungry Households in April
Vietnam is estimated to have recorded 76,000 hungry families in April, with 326,800 starveling people, down 66.2% and 55.3% on year, respectively, the government’s General Statistics Office (GSP) said. Most of the households are mainly in rural remote mountainous provinces, central coastal areas and central highlands region, the GSO added. The government and organizations have provided nearly 13,900 tons of food and over VND2.6 billion ($124,000) for the needy people since early this year. (GSO Apr Edition)
