Vietnam Reports 359,500 Hungry Households in First Six Months: GSO

Vietnam has reported 359,500 hungry families in the first half of this year, with 1.5 million starveling people, falling 30.9% and 30.2% on year, respectively. Most of them are living in rural and remote mountainous provinces, central coastal areas and central highlands region where are frequently hit by natural disasters. During the period, the government and organizations at all levels provided more than 20,800 tons of food and VND24.4 billion ($1.16 million) for famine relief. (GSO June Edition)
